Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Lakshya, the assessment process, parent participation, student login, completion status, and the final Career Discovery Profile.
General Questions
What is Lakshya?
Lakshya is a career discovery and guidance initiative designed to help students understand their strengths,
preferences, learning patterns, and possible career directions. It combines student inputs, parent inputs,
and available academic information to create a more complete career guidance profile.
Who should participate in Lakshya?
Both students and parents are expected to participate. Students complete their assigned assessments,
while parents provide their observations through a separate parent section.
Why are both student and parent inputs required?
Student responses help capture the child’s own preferences and strengths. Parent responses add another
perspective based on daily observations, behaviour, interests, and growth areas. Together, these inputs
help create a more balanced Career Discovery Profile.
Are the assessments the same for every student?
The assigned assessments may vary based on the student’s standard, program, or school requirements.
Students and parents should complete only the assessments shown in their dashboard after login.
Is Lakshya an academic exam?
No. Lakshya is not a pass-or-fail academic exam. It is a career discovery process that helps identify
patterns, preferences, strengths, and possible career directions.
For Students
How does a student start the assessment process?
The student needs to log in using the credentials provided by the school or platform.
After login, the student can view and complete the assessments assigned to them.
Can the student complete the assessments in parts?
Yes. The student may complete the assessments at their own pace, depending on the platform instructions.
If the process is not completed in one sitting, the student should log in again and continue from the pending section.
What should the student keep in mind while answering?
Students should answer honestly and naturally. There are no right or wrong answers.
The purpose is to understand the student’s actual interests, strengths, preferences, and working style.
What happens if the student has pending assessments?
If any student assessment is pending, the final Career Discovery Profile may not be generated.
The student should complete all pending sections visible on the dashboard.
Can a student change answers after submission?
Once an assessment is submitted, answers may not be editable. Students should read each question carefully
before submitting their response.
For Parents
Why do parents need to complete assessments?
Parent assessments help capture observations about the child’s interests, habits, behaviour, strengths,
and decision-making style. This helps make the Career Discovery Profile more complete and meaningful.
How can parents complete their section?
Parents need to log in using the provided link or credentials and complete the assessments assigned
in the parent section of the dashboard.
What happens if the student completes the assessments but the parent section is pending?
If the student section is completed but the parent section is still pending, the parent should complete
their pending assessments. The final profile is generally generated only after all required sections are completed.
What happens if the parent completes the assessments but the student section is pending?
If the parent section is completed but the student section is pending, the student should complete the
remaining assessments. The final profile can be prepared only after the required student and parent inputs are available.
Should parents answer based on their expectations or actual observations?
Parents should answer based on actual observations of the child rather than expectations.
Honest responses help generate a more accurate and useful Career Discovery Profile.
Career Discovery Profile
When will the Career Discovery Profile be available?
The Career Discovery Profile will be available after all required student assessments and parent assessments
are completed successfully.
What does the Career Discovery Profile include?
The profile provides insights based on assessment responses and available academic information.
It may include observations about strengths, preferences, personality patterns, and possible career directions.
How can parents view the final profile?
Once the profile is ready, parents can view it through the website dashboard or through the link shared
by the school or platform.
Is the profile a final career decision?
No. The profile is a guidance tool. It helps students and parents understand possible directions,
but final academic and career decisions should be made after discussion, counselling, and further exploration.
